Punto Banco Rules
Baccarat chemin de fer is played with 8 decks in a dealer’s shoe. Cards valued less than ten are worth their printed value while 10, J, Q, K are zero, and A is one. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these aren’t really people; they just represent the 2 hands that are dealt).
Two cards are given to both the ‘house’ and ‘gambler’. The total for each hand is the total of the 2 cards, however the 1st number is discarded. e.g., a hand of 5 and six has a score of 1 (five plus 6 equals 11; ignore the 1st ‘one’).
A third card will be dealt using the following rules:
- If the gambler or banker achieves a total of eight or 9, both players stay.
- If the gambler has less than 5, she hits. Players holds otherwise.
- If the player holds, the bank hits on 5 or lower. If the gambler hits, a chart is employed to figure out if the house stays or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The higher of the 2 scores wins. Winning wagers on the banker pay out 19:20 (even payout less a 5% rake. The Rake is kept track of and cleared out once you quit the table so make sure you have funds left over just before you quit). Winning wagers on the player pays out at 1 to 1. Winning wagers for tie typically pay eight to one but sometimes 9:1. (This is a poor bet as a tie occurs less than one in every ten hands. Avoid gambling on a tie. However odds are astonishingly greater for nine to one versus 8:1)
Wagered on properly baccarat banque gives fairly good odds, aside from the tie bet of course.
Baccarat Chemin de Fer Scheme
As with all games Baccarat has a handful of established myths. One of which is close to a absurdity in roulette. The past is not a prophecy of events yet to happen. Tracking previous results at a table is a bad use of paper and an affront to the tree that was cut down for our stationary desires.
The most accepted and probably the most acknowledged course of action is the one, three, two, six technique. This plan is employed to maximize winnings and limit losses.
Start by wagering one unit. If you win, add another to the two on the table for a grand total of three units on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, pull off four so you keep 2 on the 3rd bet. Should you succeed on the 3rd wager, put down 2 to the four on the table for a grand total of six on the 4th round.
Should you don’t win on the 1st wager, you take a loss of one. A profit on the 1st round followed by a hit on the 2nd creates a loss of 2. Success on the 1st 2 with a loss on the third provides you with a profit of two. And success on the initial three with a hit on the fourth means you experience no loss. Winning all four rounds leaves you with 12, a gain of ten. This means you will be able to squander the 2nd round five times for each successful run of 4 rounds and still balance the books.
