Baccarat Rules

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards of a value less than ten are counted at their printed value meanwhile 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they strictly appear as the 2 hands to be played).

2 hands of 2 cards will now be given to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The total for any hand shall be the total of the two cards, but the initial digit is removed. For e.g., a hand of 7 … five produces a total of two (sevenplus5=twelve; drop the ‘1′).

A 3rd card might be played depending on the foll. rules:

- If the player or banker has a tally of 8 or 9, then both gamblers stand.

- If the gambler has five or less, he hits. bettors stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of five or lesser. If the bettor hits, a chart shall be used to decide if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The larger of the two scores will be the winner. Victorious stakes on the banker pay at nineteen to twenty (even money less a 5% commission. Commission is monitored and moved out when you leave the table so make sure to have funds left over before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to 1. Winning bets for tie commonly pay eight to one but on occasion 9 to 1. (This is a terrible gamble as ties occur less than 1 every 10 hands. Definitely don’t try wagering on a tie. Even so odds are generously better – 9 to one versus eight to one)

Played smartly, baccarat presents pretty decent odds, aside from the tie wager obviously.

Baccarat Strategy

As with just about all games, Baccarat has some well-known myths. One of which is similar to a roulette misconception. The past is not a predictor of future happenings. Staying abreast of past outcomes on a chart is a complete waste of paper as well as a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most accepted and probably most successful tactic is the 1-three-two-six method. This technique is used to maximize successes and limiting risk.

Begin by gambling one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, clear away 4 so you have two on the third bet. If you win the third wager, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a total of 6 on the fourth gamble.

If you don’t win on the 1st wager, you take a loss of 1. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd creates a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. Getting a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. In other words you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
