Baccarat Regulations
Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards which are valued under 10 are said to be at their printed value while ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they simply portray the 2 hands to be played).
Two hands of 2 cards are then given to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The score for each hand will be the grand total of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is dropped. For eg, a hand of 7 as well as five gives a tally of 2 (7plus5=twelve; drop the ‘1′).
A 3rd card can be given out depending on the following codes:
- If the gambler or banker has a tally of 8 or 9, both players stand.
- If the player has 5 or lower, he hits. gamblers stand otherwise.
- If bettor stands, the banker hits of five or less. If the gambler hits, a chart is used in order to figure if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The greater of the 2 scores is the winner. Winning wagers on the banker pay nineteen to twenty (even odds minus a five % commission. Commission is followed closely and cleared out when you leave the table so ensure that you have money left over before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to 1. Winning bets for tie usually pays eight to one but sometimes nine to 1. (This is a crazy bet as ties will happen less than one every ten hands. Definitely don’t try wagering on a tie. Still, odds are significantly better – nine to one vs. eight to 1)
When done properly, baccarat presents fairly decent odds, apart from the tie bet obviously.
Baccarat Strategy
As with many games, Baccarat has some established false impressions. One of which is quite similar to a roulette myth. The past is never actually a predictor of future happenings. Keeping track of old conclusions on a chart is undoubtedly a complete waste of paper as well as a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most accepted and possibly most successful tactic is the 1-3-2-6 method. This process is employed to increase payout and limiting risk.
Begin by betting 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, remove four so you have 2 on the 3rd bet. If you win the 3rd bet, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a sum total of six on the 4th gamble.
If you don’t win on the first bet, you take a loss of 1. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the second causes a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you come out even. Winning at all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. Therefore you can fail to win the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
