Baccarat Rules
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards which are of a value less than ten are give a value of their printed value meanwhile ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they strictly depict the 2 hands to be played).
2 hands of 2 cards will now be given to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The total for every hand will be the sum of the two cards, but the 1st digit is dropped. For example, a hand of seven … five will have a value of 2 (sevenplus5=12; drop the ‘one’).
A third card can be given out depending on the foll. protocols:
- If the bettor or banker has a value of 8 or 9, both bettors stand.
- If the bettor has five or less, he hits. Players stand otherwise.
- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or lower. If the player hits, a chart will be used to see if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The larger of the two scores will be the winner. Victorious wagers on the banker pay at 19 to 20 (even money less a 5% commission. Commission is monitored and moved out when you leave the table so make sure that you have $$$$$ remaining before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to 1. Winner bets for tie customarily pays 8 to one but occasionally nine to one. (This is a terrible wager as ties will occur less than one every 10 hands. Stay away from laying money on a tie. Even so odds are remarkably better – nine to 1 vs. 8 to one)
Played correctly, baccarat presents pretty good odds, apart from the tie bet obviously.
Baccarat Tactics
As with just about all games, Baccarat has some established false impressions. 1 of which is quite similar to a roulette misconception. The past is never actually a predictor of future results. Keeping track of prior conclusions on a chart is definitely a waste of paper and a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most common and possibly most successful technique is the 1-3-2-6 method. This method is used to pump up winnings and cutting back risk.
Begin by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, subtract 4 so you have 2 on the 3rd gamble. If you win the 3rd gamble, add two to the four on the table for a value of six on the fourth gamble.
If you don’t win on the initial wager, you take a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet followed up by loss on the second causes a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. Getting a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. Therefore you can fail to win the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
