Punto Banco Policies
Baccarat chemin de fer is played with 8 decks in a dealing shoe. Cards below ten are counted at their printed number and with Ten, Jack, Queen, King are zero, and A is 1. Wagers are made on the ‘banker’, the ‘player’, or on a tie (these are not really people; they just represent the 2 hands that are dealt).
Two cards are given to both the ‘bank’ and ‘gambler’. The value for every hand is the sum total of the cards, although the first digit is discarded. e.g., a hand of five and 6 has a score of one (5 plus 6 equals 11; ditch the initial ‘one’).
A additional card could be given out depending on the rules below:
- If the player or bank gets a score of 8 or nine, the two players hold.
- If the gambler has five or lower, she takes a card. Players otherwise hold.
- If the gambler holds, the bank takes a card on 5 or lower. If the gambler hits, a table is used to determine if the banker stands or takes a card.
Baccarat Banque Odds
The higher of the 2 scores wins. Winning wagers on the house payout 19:20 (equal cash less a five percent commission. The Rake is recorded and paid off when you quit the table so be sure to have money remaining just before you leave). Winning wagers on the player pays one to one. Winning bets for tie frequently pay 8 to 1 but on occasion 9:1. (This is a poor bet as ties occur lower than 1 in every ten hands. Be cautious of putting money on a tie. However odds are substantially better for 9 to 1 vs. 8:1)
Played properly baccarat banque gives generally good odds, apart from the tie bet of course.
Punto Banco Method
As with all games Baccarat has quite a few established misunderstandings. One of which is close to a false impression in roulette. The past is not a fore-teller of events yet to happen. Recording previous outcomes at a table is a poor use of paper and a snub to the tree that gave its life for our stationary desires.
The most common and possibly the most favorable strategy is the 1-3-2-6 technique. This plan is used to pump up profits and limit losses.
Start by wagering one unit. If you succeed, add another to the two on the game table for a grand total of three dollars on the second bet. If you succeed you will now have 6 on the game table, remove 4 so you are left with 2 on the 3rd bet. If you come away with a win on the 3rd round, deposit two on the four on the table for a total of 6 on the fourth wager.
If you don’t win on the first round, you take a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet followed by a hit on the second creates a hit of two. Wins on the initial 2 with a hit on the 3rd provides you with a gain of two. And success on the initial three with a defeat on the 4th means you experience no loss. Winning all four rounds leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. This means you are able to give up the 2nd wager 5 times for each successful run of four bets and in the end, experience no loss.
